About Us

Designed by architect Jarvis Hunt, Joliet’s Union Station was originally built in 1912. In 1978, Joliet’s Union Station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places with other notable locations. A two-year renovation by the City of Joliet began in 1989 and was completed in 1991.

Today, the Grand Ballroom at Joliet Union Station is available for private events and is the perfect location for weddings or corporate events, with accommodations for up to 350 guests.

The Grand Ballroom features stunning 24-foot palladium windows, a dramatic marble staircase, classic architecture, soaring rotunda ceilings and crystal chandeliers. With central heating and cooling, guests are encouraged to enjoy events indoors and out. Magnificent balconies are available for ceremonies as well as cocktails. The Grand Ballroom is proudly ADA compliant.
